We are super excited about the Emmys this year. Not only is Beyonce the black person to receive a nomination in visual, but Tracee Ellis Ross has been nominated for 'Outstanding Leading Actress in a Comedy Role' and is indeed the first black female to do so in the last 30 years. The previous nominations for a black actress was given to Phylicia Rashad in 1985 for her role in The Cosby Show. The 68th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards come on TONIGHT (September 18, 2017) @ 7pm est.
