The legendary, Grace Coddington, announced that she will be stepping down as the Creative Director of Vogue Magazine. Now, I know some of you guys may be upset that she is doing this, but her reason was a good reason. She felt that she needed to step down for the future of fashion. However, she's not going away. She is simply becoming the Creative Director-At-Large at Vogue, but she will just to be doing only 4 issues this year.
"I’m not running away from Vogue, because it has opened so many doors. But it will be nice to collaborate, and nice to go out [and] give talks to people. It’s just another approach. I’m certainly not going into retirement. I don’t want to sit around." - Grace
She felt that she needed to step down because she just wanted to take a different approach. Grace joined Vogue publication in 1988, but wasn't seen in the public eye until in 2009 when Vogue came out with their documentary entitled The September Issue. So, what does this mean for Vogue? Well it seems like we will have to wait to see who will come in as the new Creative Director. And what does this mean for Grace? Well, let's just say that she is going to be doing some work in working on a fragrance line with Comme des Garcons.
